Caravanning at Christmas

Winter breaks in a caravan or motorhome.

Christmas may seem like the worst time to go on holiday and escape from modern life, however, with deeper thought, Christmas is a great time to settle in a cosy caravan to spend quality time with family and friends.

Many of our customers tell us they enjoy camping outside in their caravan or motorhome when visiting friends and family around this time of year. A caravan or motorhome provides an extension of the house which is familiar and less stressful.

Remote access caravan and motorhome lighting and heating.

Despite the cold weather, modern caravans have seen huge updates over the last few years, with the option for remote access to lighting and heating. (Swift Command & Truma iNet System).

Swift Command is now available across Swift’s entire caravan and motorhome range making it easy to manage, monitor and control your on-board systems. Truma’s iNet system is also available as an option across most, Pilote, Lunar, Venus, Knaus and Weinsberg ranges.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about the brisk walk from the house to your caravan or motorhome, but at least you know that it will be nice and cosy inside when you arrive.

Christmas Caravanning BBQ in snow

Citizens of Australia and the USA have been cooking their turkey on the BBQ for decades.

Camping sites are also a popular choice this time of year due to how quiet it is. If you are caravanning this year we recommend research on where to pitch. Try to avoid pitches at the bottom of a valley where water may collect, and site your caravan close to a hedge or wall to act as a windbreak.
