For those who were lucky enough to attend this October’s Caravan, Camping & Motorhome show at the NEC Birmingham, the sheer volume and quality of stands was simply amazing. Showcasing outdoor vehicles and equipment from just about every serious manufacturer in the UK, visitors were able to browse the very latest and greatest the outdoor leisure industry has to offer, all under one roof.
What seemed like a record-breaking attendance had created a truly exciting and vibrant atmosphere. Taking a very leisurely stroll around the halls, every type of caravan, motorhome or awning was on display covering every possible taste and budget within the UK market. One could not help to notice so many people grabbing an opportunity to step inside the latest vehicles from the industry’s finest and comparing the various layouts, options and latest innovations for 2024. If ever someone needed a perfect arena to investigate the right vehicle for their needs, this was it!
The Davan show team were again represented on a number of leading caravan and motorhome manufacturer stands, providing their industry-leading expertise. Our team have so much experience at these shows, taking the time to really get to know more people and what they are seeking in order to explore the great outdoors. Indeed, the initial feedback from our sales team is that they met many more new entrants into the market at this show, a great sign for a buoyant future.
Davan Sales Director, Richard Burton commented that, “from day one there was such a buzz at this event and we were able to discuss choice of vehicles and various options with so many newcomers. Many of these newbies however, were not aware that they had the opportunity to purchase a vehicle or awning from us at the event. In fact, I would say that although interest was extremely high, a lot of the newcomers we talked to were treating the event like they would a motor show, just seeing what was on offer”.
The message that Richard would like to put out to anyone that spoke to any Davan representative is, “if you saw something you liked the look of at this event, please get back in touch with us to order just as soon as you can. Fact is, with a recent surge in demand for UK motorhome and caravan holidays, and ongoing shortages in the global supply chain, a lot of manufacturers are finding it hard keep up with demand, resulting in some 2024 models already being sold out”.
It was also pretty evident that the October 2023 Caravan, Camping & Motorhome show was the first opportunity in quite a while for manufacturers to pull out all the stops and really showcase their individual products. Swift caravans looked amazing again with revolving plinths and a plethora of video wall displays to illustrate their renowned quality. Pilote motorhomes again looked as luxurious as ever. Knaus and Weinsberg were showcasing new, long-awaited models, that were taking the market by storm, such as the Knaus Tourer CUVision and the Weinsberg X-Cursion. In fact, many of the Davan team were representing manufacturers who were promoting award-winners at this event.
Davan Managing Director, Glen Davies, summed up how pleased he was with the success of this show. “We definitely saw a lot more different audiences at this event which bodes very well for the future of our industry. These customers understandably needed more education in the products and we were delighted to help them with that. What we need to tell these people is that if they saw something they were interested in, not to delay and get back in-touch with us at the earliest opportunity to avoid disappointment”.
