Swift Caravans was founded in 1964 by Ken Smith in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. In 1985, the French company Trigano Group acquired a majority stake in Swift Caravans. The Swift GRP (glass-reinforced plastic) is a very robust and resilient construction material and is manufactured on-site at their factory. Unlike other manufacturers, the thickness of a Swift caravan’s outer and inner GRP body skins are exactly the same. This creates a very balanced construction panel, which means that the caravan can expand and contract in different temperatures. Swift’s GRP is also impact and scratch-resistant, meaning that a Swift caravan’s great looks and value will last longer.
